Safe Church: Abuse Prevention & Response Course
This eight-week leadership course equips ministry leaders to confront abuse with clarity, theological grounding, and practical skill. Participants learn the core dynamics of abuse in church contexts, explore the Bible’s teaching on power and vulnerability, and learn concrete strategies for prevention, response, survivor care, reporting, and managing known offenders. The course emphasizes culture change, trauma-informed leadership, and policies that make churches safer and more accountable.
Becoming a Trauma-Informed Church
How does our understanding of trauma impact how we care for those in our faith communities? This 2-hour training examines how a trauma-informed approach provides safer, more compassionate faith communities for the vulnerable and hurting. It includes understanding what trauma is, the four "R's" of trauma-informed care, and the six principles of trauma-informed care. Participants will engage in real-time with interactive examples.
About
Empowering Christian Communities to recognize, prevent, and respond to abuse.
GRACE trains, equips, educates and investigates with the goal of supporting effective safeguarding and accountability. Fundamental to GRACE is our attention to fostering cultures that care for survivors, safeguard the vulnerable, and hold abusers accountable.
“GRACE’s safeguarding is a part of God’s calling to the church to be a refuge. The investigations are important because they are a call to truth and light. Which we are asked by God to live in all the time.
I know of no other organization that is doing what GRACE is doing.”
